I’ve spent over 20 years working as a Learning & Development Business Partner with Business Owners, Leaders and Managers in global, national, and rapidly growing regional businesses. My expertise lies in supporting both managers and their teams with the right development opportunities to enhance performance and engagement, transforming them from day to day managers into people leaders.
What drives me is the ripple effect —the belief that by working with Leaders and Managers, I’m not just impacting the individual, but also the teams they lead and the results they deliver. Having started my own career in recruitment—first as a consultant and later leading my own team, before moving into Recruitment Training and Management Development—I understand the industry’s fast-paced, results-driven nature.
I’ve worked in and with many a recruitment business where most Managers are promoted from within, as a reward for being a top biller. Unfortunately it’s then quite common to forget that the promotion from excellent, high-performing team member to Leader of the team is effectively a complete career change! We rarely treat it like that and just expect people to instinctively know what to do and how to do it. Realistically, it requires a whole new skillset that we didn’t have previously, not to mention the shift in behaviours that is often also needed.
That’s where I come in. I help recruitment businesses create strong people leaders who know how to get real performance through their people.
I believe in making learning fun, enjoyable, thought-provoking and memorable. I weave plenty of interaction, activity and small group discussion and into all the workshops I run, whether they’re run virtually or in person. Participants leave with plans of how to put their newly learned skills into practice.
Both group coaching and one to one coaching can be built into any programme, to further embed the learning, create stronger accountability and support the leaders in more successful transfer of the learning to their own individual contexts.
